Student Leaders Rally to Save Douglass College on the First Day of Classes
| WHAT: | Students from the Douglass College Government Association will hold an Information Drive leading up to a Town Hall Meeting as classes get underway for the fall semester. The intent is to rally support from the student body to stop the proposed plan by Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, to eliminate Douglass College, the nation’s largest public women’s college. To date, Douglass College alumnae, friends, and supporters have reached out to Rutgers University President Richard McCormick, the Rutgers University Board of Governors, and elected officials to voice their support for Saving Douglass College by sending more than 30,000 personal emails and letters. At the Information Drive student leaders will be handing out unique “ Save Douglass College” bracelets, buttons, and information on efforts to Save Douglass College. The Town Hall Meeting will feature speakers, including the Dean of Douglass College, Carmen Twilli e Ambar. |

Douglass College has a strong sense of tradition, a global vision, and a history of supporting women who choose to lead in fields in which women have traditionally been underrepresented. Douglass College, with approximately 3,000 students, is where “Women Learn To Lead.”
